Thirty Years on the Line
June 30th was Lieutenant David “8-Ball” Symonds final tour. His last shift wrapped up a 30 year career with the Keene Fire Department, 25 as a career firefighter. Dave was a Keene Fire icon, a constant reliable brother always there when needed. 8-Ball was the local supply man, ensuring that the brothers were always stocked with coffee and treats. His impact was abundantly clear when the morning following his retirement, station 2 was out of coffee. (Just kidding)
Dave in his typical unselfish demeanor threw himself a famous driveway party, to celebrate his retirement. The party was attended by over 100 friends, family and co-workers. The party would not have been a success if it wasn’t for the labor of his wife Suzanne and a few of the brothers from 3265.
Enjoy your retirement LT, you earned it. Thanks for the memories and we look forward to creating a few more.
